FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT DOES AN INFANT SLEEP CONSULTANT DO?
An infant sleep consultant is a qualified professional who helps families improve their child’s sleep in a gentle and supportive way.
I help identify where small changes can be made to improve sleep for both your child and the rest of the family. Every child is different, so advice is always tailored to your child’s temperament, routines and needs.
I have learnt all about sleep so you don’t have to. My role is to support and guide you with practical, realistic advice that helps everyone get more rest and feel more confident.
HOW DO I KNOW IF MY CHILD NEEDS SLEEP SUPPORT?
Every child is different, and there is no single “right” way to approach sleep. Sometimes it can simply help to talk things through with someone experienced and get reassurance that you’re on the right track.
You might want support if your child is struggling with naps, reluctant to go to bed, waking frequently during the night, waking very early or finding it difficult to settle to sleep without you.
Sleep deprivation can feel overwhelming for parents, so it’s important to get support when you need it. Gentle, personalised changes can often make a big difference for the whole family.
WHAT SLEEP SUPPORT PACKAGES DO YOU OFFER?
I offer a range of gentle sleep support packages designed to suit different families and needs.
Whether you are looking for a quick phone or Zoom chat for reassurance, or more detailed support with a personalised sleep plan and follow-up guidance, there is an option to suit you.
You can find full details of current packages and pricing on the Packages page.
WHAT AGE CHILDREN CAN YOU HELP?
I can support families with babies, toddlers and young children.
It can be really helpful to understand healthy sleep habits from the early months, even before introducing any sleep methods. Gentle sleep support can help parents feel more confident and prepared as their child grows, so I can talk you through all that at any time.
When it comes to introducing my gentle sleep methods, support usually begins from around 6 months onwards. However, I also work with older children and can tailor approaches to suit your child’s temperament and your family’s needs.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I GET IN TOUCH?
Once you get in touch through the contact form, I will arrange a suitable time to talk and recommend the most appropriate support package for your family.
If you choose a package with more detailed support, you’ll also receive a short questionnaire before your consultation. This helps gather information about your child’s routines, sleep patterns and challenges so that your time together can focus on practical support and solutions.
Everything is designed to feel straightforward, supportive and manageable for tired parents.
WHAT IF I NEED MORE SUPPORT LATER ON?
Babies and children are constantly growing and changing, so it’s completely normal for sleep routines to shift over time.
Whether you need extra reassurance during a difficult phase, support with a new sleep challenge or help getting routines back on track, additional support is always available.
The aim is to provide calm, realistic guidance that helps parents feel supported and confident as their child’s needs change.
HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK?
Once your consultation has been arranged, payment details will be provided before your appointment.
Payments are made securely through PayPal, and full details will be explained when booking your chosen package.
The process is designed to feel simple and straightforward for busy, sleep-deprived parents.
DO YOU OFFER ONLINE SLEEP CONSULTATIONS?
Yes. I support families across Dorset, across the UK and other countries (time difference permitting..!) through Zoom consultations and provide personalised sleep support.
Online consultations are designed to feel calm, supportive and practical, giving families flexible access to gentle sleep guidance wherever they are based.
DO YOU USE CRY-IT-OUT METHODS?
No. Support is always gentle, responsive and tailored to your child and family.
The aim is to help everyone get better sleep in a way that feels calm, realistic and supportive, without using harsh or one-size-fits-all approaches.
